AMMOUDARA

Ammoudara is one of the largest coastlines on the island, starting 1km west of the center of Heraklion and reaching the mouth of the Almyros river, 7km west. It has been developed as a tourist destination due to its huge beach, has been awarded five blue flags and is now a suburb of Heraklion.

It owes its name to the long sandy beach with fine light brown sand. It offers never ending options for those looking for liveliness and crowds, as well as for those seeking peace and solitude. Along the coast there are organized beaches with sunbeds, umbrellas, seaside bars and lifeguards. It is distinguished for its organization and the options it offers to the lovers of water sports, as it has the appropriate infrastructure for both exercising and learning a variety of activities.

In the evening, the beach center is full of life with the surrounding area providing tons of options for entertainment.
